AI visibility for App Store and Google Play apps

See whether ChatGPT and Gemini recommend your app, who they name instead, and what it brings to the store

Spotlora asks the assistants the questions your users ask, every week, with web search on. You get the rate with its margin of error, the products named instead, the pages the answers relied on, and the visits, installs and revenue that followed.

What you get

Five screens, each shown with an excerpt from a real account: MusicTune AI, a song-generator app on both stores, asked 45 questions on ChatGPT and Gemini on Oct 27, 2026.

01

Visibility by assistant, with intervals

One rate per assistant: the share of your questions whose answer names the app, and how often it is the first pick. Each comes with its 95% interval, because 45 questions give a range, not an exact number.

Week to week, a change is called only when it clears that noise, and the prompts that flipped are listed.

Who gets named instead

Share of voice read from the real answers: every product named, how often, and how often first, with your app in the same list.

Products you don't track yet are suggested as competitors, with the names and domains the answers used for them.

Sources to chase and lists to get on

The pages cited in answers that left you out, by kind: store listing, competitor, help center, forum, list. Keep a status on each (to chase, contacted, listed).

For each topic you lose, Spotlora also asks the assistants which lists and reviews they trust, and finds the page where you can submit your app.

Visits, installs and revenue by assistant

Connect App Store Connect, Google Play, RevenueCat and a small site tag, and see what reached the store next to your visibility, on one date axis.

Visits, downloads and installs are split by assistant wherever the referrer survives. Apple drops referrer rows under 5 a day, so per-assistant installs are a floor, and the screen says so.

Recommendations with evidence, and experiments that check them

Each recommendation names the questions it would win, the answers and quotes behind it, and the field, page or list to change. They are ranked by the visits and installs each assistant sends you, not by question count alone.

Track one as an experiment: later runs are compared with the baseline and get a verdict (up, down or within noise). When your listing changes, the questions that flipped are tied to the field that changed.

Recommendation

fact · 3 questions in scope
Assistants never mention a free tier when they name us (18 quotes)

Why. In the 18 sentences the engines wrote about MusicTune AI none states a free tier, although the listing does; 3 of the 3 prompts that ask about it are lost.

Do. State it in one plain sentence in the first paragraph of the listing and the home page, in llms.txt, and on every intent page.

How it works

  1. 01

    Paste your store link

    App Store or Google Play. We read the listing on both stores in each of your markets and languages: title, subtitle, description, languages, similar apps.

  2. 02

    We propose the questions

    The questions people ask when they look for an app like yours, by topic and market, with and without “iPhone” or “Android”. You keep, edit or add.

  3. 03

    Weekly runs, with intervals

    ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude, with web search on. Every answer and citation is kept; rates come with 95% intervals, and a change is called only when it clears the noise.

  4. 04

    Recommendations and experiments

    Ranked actions with their evidence. Track one as an experiment and it gets a baseline and a target; the next runs give the verdict.

One caveat. We ask through each assistant's API with web search on. That is the same model family and search as the consumer app, but without its memory of the user, location defaults and product cards, so one answer can differ from what one person sees. Spotlora reports rates over many questions and weeks, not single answers.

The free report

Paste a store link and an email. We write 10 questions from your listing, ask ChatGPT and Gemini with web search on, and give you a page you can share. It shows:

  • how often each assistant named your app, with the 95% interval;
  • every question, whether you were named and at what position, and who was named instead;
  • the products named instead across all answers;
  • the pages cited in answers that left you out, and which of your pages were cited;
  • three things to do next, each with the evidence behind it.

The sample report for MusicTune AI was asked on Gemini only, because ChatGPT was unavailable when it ran; the report says so instead of guessing.

Questions

How do you measure whether an assistant recommends my app?
We ask each assistant your questions with web search on and keep the full answer and its citations. A language model reads every answer and records which products it names, in what order and with which quote; your app counts when the answer names it. The rate is the share of questions whose answer names you, shown with a 95% interval, because 45 questions give a range, not an exact number. You can open every answer behind every number.
How often do you ask?
Weekly on paid plans, every two weeks on Free. Pro and Studio also check 5 starred questions per app every day on ChatGPT. A change between runs is called only when it clears the noise; otherwise it is reported as within noise.
Which assistants?
ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Claude on paid plans; ChatGPT and Gemini on Free and in the free report. Each run records the model it used (for example gpt-5.4 and gemini-3.8-flash on the run shown above), so a model change is visible on the chart instead of hiding inside it.
Is an API answer what my users see in the ChatGPT app?
Close, not identical. The API gives the same model family and web search, but not the consumer app's memory of the user, its location defaults or its product cards, and every answer varies a little from one ask to the next. That is why Spotlora reports rates over many questions and weeks with intervals, and never a single screenshot. Use it for direction and size of change, not to predict one person's answer.
Which stores and markets?
The App Store and Google Play. We read your listing in every market and language you track (title, subtitle, description, promotional text, Languages row, similar apps), watch it for changes, and ask the questions in the market's language. On Starter, up to 5 markets share the 40 questions.
What data do you keep, and what do you need from me?
To start, only a store link: listings are public. Connections to App Store Connect, Google Play, RevenueCat and the site tag are optional and read-only. The site tag sets no cookies, stores no IP address and sends nothing when the browser asks not to be tracked. We don't sell data or use it for advertising. Details are on the privacy page.
